Description: Bush or shrub up to 2 m high, arched or lying stalks, glabrous and soft-pubescent. Spikes (thorns) of a wide base, opened up to scythe. Leaves are of 3-5 leaflets, green and glabrous in the upper side, with white pubescence in the bottom side, bark. The floral is often tall with leaves at its base. Wrinkled, circled or ovate petals, white or rosy. Sweet black fruit embedded to the receptacle.
Distribution in Kosovo: It grows on bushes or fences of the fields or at the bottom of mountains exposed to the sun.
Parts used: The fruit (Rubus fructicosi folium).
Harvesting: Fruits are harvested in late summer and autumn when fully ripen, the leaves are harvested during the flowering period.
Drying: Leaves should be dried in the oven or under the shade at 50 0C. Ratio: 4:1.
Therapeutic category: Astringent.
Use: leaves are used as a tea in the treatment of inflammations of mouth and throat mucous.
Preparation and dosage: The tea prepared by mixing of 1.5 g. of dried leaves should be used 3 times per day.
