Mountain germander

Description: Half-shrub, 10-25 cm high. Leaves are full and hairy only in the bottom side. The calyx is glabrous, rarely with hair. The flowers are yellow to yellowish .

Distribution in Kosovo: It grows in pastures, dry hilly places, forest clearances, etc..

Parts used: Areal part the herb (Teucrii montani herba).

Harvest time: The herb is harvested in summer (VI-VIII).

Drying: The herb is dried in ovens or in proper locations at 45-50 0C. Ratio: 5:1.

Therapeutic category: Anti-rheumatic, expectorant.

Use: A plant which has been used by the Illyrians (Teuta) in the treatment of many diseases such as rheumatism, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, against excessive fluids, cleans the lungs and stomach, prevents cramps in the stomach, etc.

Preparation and dosage: 4-5 g of dried herb mixed in boiled water as tea, in 150 ml of water and it is used 3 times a day.
